I was called at the last minute to provide flowers for a wedding that took place yesterday due to a mixup with the wedding party’s florist. I asked for colors and was told to buy whatever looked the best. I saw some really nice pink roses and mixed them with white roses. Today, I was told by several people who attended the wedding that the colors matched the bride’s ensemble perfectly. I’ve said this before and I continue to believe it; when faced with a problem of choices or indecision, sometimes it’s best to just chill out and let God do the work.

Nearly 2,000 children have been separated from their families. There is made by the Democris is a policy being carried out by the Trump administration. Tearing children away from parents who have made a dangerous journey to provide a safe and sufficient life for them is unnecessarily cruel and detrimental to the well-being of parents and children. Separation of children from their families UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES is equal to child abuse.

Simple but elegant—that was the intent. The white roses really have this delicate air about them.

Tomorrow we celebrate Pentecost—the most important event for the church outside of the resurrection. Without the Holy Spirit filling the apostles with the courage to preach the Good News there wouldn’t have been a Christian Church. Red (the color of tongues of fire) is the color for this Sunday.

About

The Church of St. Luke in the Fields is a lively, inclusive parish located in the heart of New York City s Greenwich Village

Description

The Church of St. Luke in the Fields is a lively, inclusive parish located in the heart of New York City s Greenwich Village. We reflect the variety of peoples in our world: different genders, sexual orientations, all forms of families, all abilities and special needs, in every socio-economic grouping, and from many cultures – all one in the body of Christ. St. Luke s is an Episcopal Church, part of the world-wide Anglican Communion, and grounded in the rich Anglo-Catholic liturgical and musical tradition. We believe that as members of the Body of Christ, we are called to ministries of worship, formation, hospitality and witness. In the 19th century, St. Luke s was a center of the Catholic renewal and the Oxford Movement. The parish became the first in the city to offer daily services of the Divine Office and a weekly Sunday Eucharist. The Eucharist remains at the heart of our life at St. Luke s. Whether you are looking for a new community of worship or just visiting New York City, we invite you to join us. Our Anglo-Catholic liturgy, our music program, and the energy of our congregational singing draw visitors from all over the country and the world. The Holy Eucharist (also referred to as Holy Communion, the Lord s Supper, or Mass) is at the heart of our worship life. All baptized Christians are welcome to come forward to receive the consecrated Bread and Wine at every Eucharistic celebration at St. Luke s. Our service leaflets are user-friendly, and we make every effort to make newcomers and visitors feel welcome and involved. On Sundays, childcare is provided for children six and under. Mission

As members of the Body of Christ gathered at the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, we are called to ministries of worship, witness, formation and hospitality. We seek to add to the legacy we have received, and to participate fully in the life of both our city and the larger church.
